Srinagar July 29: In a landmark cultural event, 21,000 youngsters came together to perform Ladishah, the traditional Kashmiri musical storytelling art form, setting a Universe Record. Known for its satirical take on social and political issues, Ladishah had long been fading from public memory.

The event, held under the banner of ‘Kashmiri Riwaaj 2025’, was organized by the Indian Army as part of a larger effort to revive and preserve Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.

The occasion was graced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, General Officer Commanding 19 Infantry Division, and several other distinguished guests.

In a significant social shift, the event witnessed unprecedented participation of young women a powerful moment in the valley transformation post the abrogation of Article 370. Where once there were threats and restrictions on women participating in public performances, now there is visible change in Naya Kashmir, with female voices rising proudly through art and culture.

The event stood as a vibrant testament to Kashmir’s evolving identity rooted in tradition, yet confidently stepping into a new era.
