Weather Today (29, January 2026): India sees sharp weather contrasts today, from sub-zero cold in Kashmir to warm, clear skies in Mumbai and southern cities.

Weather Today (29, January 2026): The current weather in India varies significantly from region to region as the Himalayan range is chilled and the coastal regions are warm and humid. As January comes to an end, the northern parts of the country are still experiencing the effects of winter, while the southern and western parts of the country remain relatively constant in terms of temperatures with fog, mist and clear weather are experienced in different parts of the country, influencing people’s lives in terms of health and weather advice.
Delhi-NCR is witnessing a mild winter and the mornings are setting in at 12°C, gradually increasing to 18°C by the time the sun is at its peak with the average temperature is around 14°C. There is a slight breeze of 5 km/h, which makes it a bit chilly and the presence of humidity further makes it seem cooler than the actual temperature and chances of rain are very low, around 1%, so the skies remain clear.
Mumbai is also experiencing a stable coastal climate and the sky is clear with temperatures ranging in their highest and lowest points to 22°C-30°C. The humidity level is 63%, which is quite pleasant and the wind speed of 8-9 km/h makes it comfortable and there are no chances of rainfall, which makes it a typical dry January day.
In Uttar Pradesh with the central and eastern parts of the state being most affected by it currently experiencing temperatures ranging from 11°C at night to a maximum of 21°C during the day. The early mornings are usually foggy with a 40% chance of light rain in some parts with the humidity levels remain high, above 80%, which can reduce visibility during the morning hours but clears up as the day advances.
In Karnataka, the mornings are cool and mild, gradually warming up to pleasant afternoons and the day temperatures range between 16°C and 28°C with a hint of mist in the mornings. The wind remains moderate and the humidity level is 68%, making it quite pleasant to be out in the open.
Tamil Nadu is remaining warm and humid while in Chennai, the night temperature is around 20°C and the maximum touches 29°C, the sun is out partly and the sea breeze is a relief from the heat. The relative humidity is 78%, which is normal during this time of the year.
Rajasthan presents a mix of moods with a sense of crispness in the morning at 9°C, which later warms up to 22°C where the wind remains gentle and the atmosphere is pleasant. The forecast indicates a gradual increase in the temperature with time, as the mercury rises gradually.
Jammu & Kashmir is in the grip of winter, with Srinagar recording harsh sub-zero temperatures and night temperatures drop to as low as -23°C, while the maximum touches only -8°C. Mild winds offer no respite and this harsh weather is expected to continue throughout the week.
The climate in Punjab is cool and stable with the temperature remains from 9°C to 19°C, along with light air and a clear sky. There will be no rainfall and the warmth of the sun increases a bit from the early morning.
Winters in Ahmedabad are mild with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 27°C as you can expect partly cloudy skies, a good amount of humidity and a west-northwest wind that will make the air feel fresh.
