World Book Fair received well despite cold wave

New Delhi: Cold weather and ongoing construction work at Pragati Maidan fails to dampen the spirits of Delhiites as they thronged in large numbers to the New Delhi World Book Fair 2019. Lack of space meant there were fewer participants this year, but there was no dearth of visitors to the fair. “I decided to come to the book fair early this year as books get sold out towards the end. Last year, I had to go back empty handed as I had come late,” said Satyamurty Verma, a lecturer in Delhi University.

The theme of this year’s fair is ‘Readers with Special Needs’ focusing on children with special needs and care. Publishers from all over India and abroad thronged the capital with their latest publications.
