NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) while addressing a large public rally in the Garkha Assembly constituency of Saran district. Speaking in support of NDA candidate Seemant Mrinal, Yogi made a strong appeal to voters to ensure his victory on the helicopter symbol.

Accusing the opposition of tarnishing Bihar’s reputation and disrespecting Hindu sentiments, Yogi said the Congress and RJD had “defamed Bihar’s identity” and “denied the existence of Mata Janaki and Lord Shri Ram.” He stated, “Congress says Lord Ram never existed. What could be a bigger insult to Hindus than this?” The Chief Minister alleged that during its tenure, the RJD government had stopped the Ram Rath Yatra and ordered lathi charges on devotees, while the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh had gone as far as opening fire on Ram bhakts.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to both faith and progress, Yogi remarked, “Despite their opposition, we stood firm and said, ‘Ram Lalla hum aayenge, Mandir wahi banayenge’. Today, the magnificent Ram Temple in Ayodhya stands as proof of what the BJP’s double-engine government can achieve.” He emphasized that the BJP’s governance model had successfully merged faith, development, and national pride.

Recalling the lawlessness that marked the RJD’s earlier rule, Yogi said that between 1992 and 2005, Bihar had become “a land of massacres, kidnappings, and terror.” He added, “Over 60 caste-based massacres and more than 30,000 kidnappings occurred. Traders were unsafe, daughters feared stepping out, and youth were forced to migrate. That was RJD’s Bihar.”

Pointing to the turnaround under the NDA, Yogi asserted that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar began the “countdown for Bihar’s mafias,” while Prime Minister Narendra Modi “accelerated development and revived India’s cultural pride.” He cautioned voters against trusting those “who once drove Bihar into chaos and are now back to mislead the people again.”

Taking aim at the opposition’s claim to Jayaprakash Narayan’s legacy, Yogi said, “Those who claim to follow Loknayak JP couldn’t even build a hospital in his wife’s name. The NDA built a 100-bed hospital in Sitab Diara to honour her. That’s the difference between those who preserve legacies and those who erase them. This is what true nationalism looks like.”

In his trademark fiery style, Yogi used wit to mock the INDI alliance, saying, “Mahatma Gandhi had three monkeys who saw, heard, and spoke no evil. But the INDI alliance has its own trio—Pappu, Tappu, and Appu—who neither see the truth, hear the truth, nor speak it. That’s why they fail to acknowledge Modi ji’s development efforts and his reverence for India’s heritage.”

Reiterating his criticism of the RJD, Yogi accused it of still harbouring criminals. “Even today, they openly support hereditary criminals. Remember how acid was thrown on Chandu Babu? Such crimes were common under RJD’s rule. But now, the bulldozer model that wiped out mafia rule in Uttar Pradesh will do the same in Bihar,” he warned.

Highlighting the cultural and emotional ties between the two states, Yogi said, “The connection between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is ancient — a Roti-Beti relationship since the Treta Yuga. We are one family; when UP develops, Bihar also prospers.”
Concluding his address, Yogi Adityanath appealed to voters in Garkha and Saran to support NDA candidate Seemant Mrinal. “To restore Bihar’s pride, identity, and progress, ensure his grand victory,” he urged.

Notably, The rally witnessed a massive turnout, with Yogi’s spirited speech resonating strongly with the audience as he combined sharp political criticism with emotional appeals, faith-based rhetoric, and promises of growth under the BJP-led NDA government.
