Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg, wife of the late singer Zubeen Garg, has broken her silence in an emotional interview with the TSG , expressing disappointment over the conduct of those who accompanied the singer on his final trip to Singapore when he had gone there to attend the Northeast Festival.

In an exclusive conversation with TSG, Garima reflected on her emotions over the loss of her husband.

Q. Five people, including those close to Zubeen, have been arrested so far. Do you believe his inner circle broke his trust?

A. Garima Garg: It seems like people who were around him, who were with him and whom we trusted the most, didn’t take care of him. When he needed it the most, it was pure negligence on their part, also on the organiser’s part. I mean not just the organiser of the North East Festival and the organisers of the yacht party.

Q. What are your expectations from the ongoing SIT and CID investigation?

A. Garima Garg: I have faith in our investigation system; I have faith, and we are keeping patience and then patiently we are waiting for the result to come out. So, the investigation is going on, we should, you know, cooperate with the system, but things should be focused. It shouldn’t go haywire, it should be focused. We just want to know what had happened exactly on that day with Zubeen Garg and how the end had come to this. So, it shouldn’t have happened with a person like him. He was so badly neglected, and if there was any criminal intention was involved in that incident, then those people should be severely, severely punished.

Q. Zubeen Garg had a seizure condition and was advised to stay away from water and fire. So, do you think that his team was also aware of his condition?

A. Garima Garg: Yea, very much. They were well, very well aware of it and then when he was in hospital, when he was, you know, released from the hospital, that time also those advisers they have heard them, I mean, they were present in that moment. They knew about it very well.

Q. You have already started completing Zubeen Garg’s last movie, Roi Roi Binale. How do you want to continue his legacy?

A. Garima Garg: I wouldn’t say this is the last film of Zubeen Garg. Zubeen will always, you know, we will always carry on his legacy. So, Zubeen will be there forever anyway. His dream project, Roi Roi Binale, was at the post-production level. Zubeen was working with it, and then he wanted to, you know, passionately, he was working with it. He was so passionately involved with the movie, and then this was his dream for the last 16-17 years and since it’s a musical love story, he could see himself in this movie, you know. So, he was playing a very different character also and was involved with it, and he wanted to release this film on the 31st. We are trying to fulfil his dream. We are trying to, you know, complete the film before the 31st and get it released for people.

Garima’s statements come at a crucial moment as the SIT continues to question key accused in the case, including Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, and others who accompanied the singer during his final days in Singapore.

Meanwhile, in a crucial development in the ongoing investigation into the death of Assam’s iconic singer Zubeen Garg , the viscera report from Delhi has been received. Addressing the media, CID SDGP Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed that the report, which arrived from the forensic laboratory in Delhi, will be thoroughly cross-verified with the postmortem findings earlier conducted at GMCH.
