Bangladesh slides into chaos

opinionBangladesh slides into chaos

In a change of perception that is worthy of a mention in “Believe it or not”, the new BanglaDesh administration has become an ardent admirer of the Pakistan army. In other words, the same force that massacred, raped and brutalized much of the population in 1971. Of course, even during that period, there were more than a few quislings who supported Lt-Gen A A K Niazi in his gencocidal work. It is clear than such quislings have not changed their perverted viewpoint, but have multiplied manifold since then until they could seize power last year. The pro-Pakistan fringe element in BanglaDesh politics had been sought to be propitiated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, an error which strengthened them. Looking around for a pliable, internationally acceptable face for the regime the fringe was planning to install, Mohammad Yunus could not be bettered. A Nobel Prize man who had the added advantage of disliking Sheikh Hasina. Since he came on board, Yunus has been the outside face of a regime that no longer can hide its extremist nature. The Christian and Hindu communities suffered, with the latter being sought to be forced to move to India.

The country was already home to several million BanglaDeshis, although in recent times, the Government of India has been making efforts to identify the most extremist elements among them. Such elements are easy pickings for the GHQ Rawalpindi terror machine that last showed its lethality at Pahalgam just a short while ago.
As a consequence of the country being taken over by those whose family history is often marked by collaboration with the oppressors from Pakistan, the economy of the country is entering into a free fall. According to the World Bank, the economy performed the worst it had for several decades.

Unemployment and inflation are rife, as is public dissatisfaction with the way their lives have been affected by the economic slowdown. Conditions are brewing for public unrest, which is only awaiting a catalytic event before erupting. As a consequence of Indian air space being blocked to aircraft from and to Pakistan since the Pahalgam terror attack, logistics costs have shot up. It was a well timed gesture that has seriously affected connectivity between Pakistan and its former colony in the east. Despite efforts of CCP social media warriors to present a picture that is the opposite of reality, it has become obvious to the rest of the world that Pakistan under the heel of the military has turned into a terror state. Nuclear saber rattling reveals the extent of desperation felt by the military in that country at the situation they are facing as a consequence of having carried out the Pahalgam terror attack. Thanks to the fellow travellers of the extremist ideology that is driving the actions of GHQ Rawalpindi, BanglaDesh has joined Pakistan in an economic crisis. Care needs to be taken to prevent mass movement into India as the economic crisis in BanglaDesh turns into a political crisis. Is it possible to point to any developing country that has done better by aligning with China? The list seems empty of content
