IPL 2026: Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Trent Boult Among Big Names Yet To Take A Wicket | In Pics
The 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is not even halfway through as only 13 matches have been done. Although big names are bound to make a mark from the outset, bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Noor Ahmad and Trent Boult are yet to take a wicket. Nevertheless, the quality these bowlers possess means that these bowlers have the potential to dominate the backend of the tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah
Amongst the most dangerous new-ball bowlers across formats, Jasprit Bumrah has played three games but has not picked up a single wicket. However, the Mumbai Indians' pace spearhead has delivered economical spells when fellow bowlers have struggled. (Image Credits: X)
Varun Chakravarthy
Kolkata Knight Riders' Varun Chakravarthy was tipped by many to become the leading wicket-taker of IPL 2026. However, the leg-spinner has surprisingly not claimed any wicket in the two games played. (Image Credits: X)
Arshdeep Singh
Punjab Kings' Arshdeep Singh is one of the best new-ball bowlers in T20 cricket and is a bona fide wicket-taker across phases. However, the left-arm seamer is yet to claim a wicket in two innings. (Image Credits: X)
Harshal Patel
SunRisers Hyderabad's Harshal Patel is amongst the finest exponent of the slower deliveries in T20 cricket. However, the right-arm seamer is yet to take a wicket in IPL 2026 and it has impacted the SunRisers. (Image Credits: X)
Noor Ahmad
Chennai Super Kings' Noor Ahmad was retained after finishing IPL 2025 as the second-highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in 14 games. However, Noor's lack of wickets in three matches so far has hurt the CSK adversely. (Image Credits: X)
Trent Boult
Trent Boult played a vital role in Mumbai Indians' title victory in IPL 2020 but has struggled to be incisive in the two games played this year. Boult was also notably benched for the game against the Delhi Capitals. (Image Credits: X)
Khaleel Ahmed
Chennai Super Kings' pace spearhead Khaleel Ahmed is yet another bowler who has gone wicketless in IPL 2026. However, the left-arm speedster was unlucky against RCB as he created a chance against Virat Kohli but the catch was missed. (Image Credits: X)
Harshal Patel.
Harshal Patel is the only bowler among the list to win the purple cap. The 35-year-old had won the purple cap with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2021 and accomplished it in 2024 when playing for the Punjab Kings. (Image Credits: X)
