On Sunday night at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, team India delivered a night fans will remember forever defeating New Zealand by 96 runs to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 title. Powered by Sanju Samson’s brilliant 89, Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 52, and Ishan Kishan’s quickfire 54, India posted a daunting 255/5, putting immense pressure on the Black Caps from the start. In response, New Zealand struggled to keep up with the massive target despite Tim Seifert’s fighting fifty. Jasprit Bumrah then sealed the match with a sensational spell of 4/15 as the Kiwis were bowled out for 159. The victory made India the first team to win the T20 World Cup three times.
