In an astonishing turn of events today, local cricketing giants Dumbleton Cricket Club have carved a place in sporting history by amassing a remarkable world record score of 417/2 in a T20 match in a local competition against Hatherley and Reddings Cricket Club. To cap the phenomenal innings, top-order opener Ewan Gegg remained not out on an incredible 206 from just 55 balls, powering his team to a truly unbelievable total. 

The monumental effort came during the Varistha Cheltenham Premier T20 competition, and Dumbleton’s players systematically ripped the opposition’s bowlers apart as they smashed their way around the fast outfield. Officials have since been in contact with world records authorities after this unbelievably huge score, which, pending verification, stands as the highest twenty-over score ever.

The destructive batting exhibition began immediately after Dumbleton Cricket Club won the coin toss and elected to exploit the excellent batting conditions. Opener Thomas Kelly established an aggressive foundation by blasting a rapid 64 runs from just 25 balls before number three batsman Dan Holland joined Ewan Gegg to execute a brutal offensive partnership. Dan Holland registered an astonishing century by clearing the ropes with ease to finish with 122 runs off a mere 37 deliveries.

The primary headline belonged to Ewan Gegg, who reached his double-century milestone in just 54 deliveries by hitting an unbelievable total of 23 massive sixes and 13 boundaries. Their dominant second-wicket partnership contributed a massive 211 runs in just 59 balls to propel the team total past the previous international benchmark of 344 runs.

Hatherley And Reddings Cricket Club Scoreboard Response Completes Record Aggregate

Faced with an impossible target of 418 runs, the Hatherley and Reddings Cricket Club batters delivered a highly courageous batting response to complete a spectacular aggregate match total. Opening batsman Harry Bloomfield led the valiant chase by smashing a brilliant 109 runs from 48 balls, including 12 sixes, before the entire batting lineup was eventually bowled out for 229 runs in the final over.
