Aman Sehrawat is one win away from an Asian Games gold medal. The Indian wrestler has stormed into the men’s freestyle 57kg final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 after putting together three impressive victories on his way to the title bout on Saturday.
The Olympic bronze medallist began his campaign against Japan’s Yamato Ogawa in the Round of 16. Ogawa started aggressively and put Aman under pressure early, but the Indian wrestler quickly turned the contest around and powered to a 20-9 victory by technical superiority.
Aman then continued his run in the quarter-final, defeating Uzbekistan’s Aitanov 12-1 to move into the last four.
The biggest test came in the semifinal against Tajikistan’s Aiaal Belolyubskii, ranked No. 31 in the world by United World Wrestling. Aman was again in control when it mattered, winning 14-8 on points to book his place in the final and assure himself of at least a silver medal.
