The goal came in the 10th minute of the clash as the Argentine skipper provided a crucial assist. The winner from this game will make it to the semi-finals to face England.

Alexis Mac Allister headed the ball into the goal after a splendid corner from Lionel Messi. It was the first goal for the Argentine midfielder in the ongoing tournament. Meanwhile, Messi, who is the joint top scorer with Kylian Mbappe in the FIFA World Cup 2026, provided his second assist of the tournament. He still trails the French forward in terms of assists in the tournament. 

Coming to the goal, Mac Allister jumped the highest in what was a crowded Swiss penalty box. His jump meant that the midfielder was awarded some space for a clear header.
