Aryna Sabalenka US Open Results: Aryna Sabalenka narrowly edged her biggest test of the US Open 2026 so far, edging Linda Noskova in a gripping three-set quarterfinal at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The defending champion won 7-6(1), 3-6, 7-6(10-7) to reach the semifinals for a sixth consecutive year. Yet the Belarusian held her nerve when the contest reached its decisive moments, keeping her bid for a third straight New York title alive.
US Open 2026 Results: Aryna Sabalenka Holds Nerve In Decisive Tiebreak vs Linda Noskova
The opening set immediately showed the level of the contest. Sabalenka took the tiebreak 7-1 after neither player could establish sustained control. Linda Noskova responded strongly in the second set, breaking through Sabalenka’s rhythm and levelling the match 3-6.
The Czech then moved ahead in the deciding set and appeared close to a major upset. Sabalenka, however, recovered from the deficit and forced another tiebreak. She eventually prevailed 10-7, sealing the victory with a second-serve ace.
Noskova finished with 18 aces and saved seven of nine break points, underlining how effectively she competed against the tournament’s top seed.
The result also highlighted Sabalenka’s tiebreak strength. She had won 21 consecutive Grand Slam tiebreaks earlier this year, making her composure in the final breaker another decisive weapon.
Sixth Straight US Open 2026Semifinal For Aryna Sabalenka
The victory extends Sabalenka’s remarkable consistency at Flushing Meadows. She has now reached the US Open semifinals in six consecutive appearances. She is also chasing a third successive championship, a feat last achieved by Serena Williams in New York from 2012 to 2014.
Sabalenka entered the quarterfinal after beating Taylor Townsend 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth round. Before that, she defeated Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3, 6-4 and Polina Iatcenko 6-1, 6-1. Her latest win also avenged the pressure created by Noskova’s aggressive baseline game, despite Sabalenka having beaten her 6-3, 6-4 in their Indian Wells semifinal earlier this season.
Sabalenka will now face the winner of Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro in the semifinals. Her title defence continues, but so does the battle for the world No.1 ranking, with Elena Rybakina still in contention.
