LA 2028 Olympics: When And Where Will The Games Take Place?

The LA 2028 Summer Olympics are set to take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028, with Los Angeles serving as the main host city. The Games will use an existing network of venues across Southern California rather than relying on new permanent construction. Events will be spread across areas including Downtown Los Angeles, Exposition Park, Inglewood, Long Beach, Pasadena and Carson, while venues such as Riviera Country Club, Trestles Beach and the Fairgrounds in Pomona will host golf, surfing and cricket respectively. The approach is designed to make use of established sporting infrastructure while keeping the Games’ footprint more sustainable.

Several iconic venues will feature prominently during the Olympics, including the LA Memorial Coliseum, Rose Bowl Stadium, Crypto.com Arena, Intuit Dome and Dodger Stadium. Athletics and the opening and closing ceremonies are among the events planned for the Coliseum, while the Rose Bowl will host football finals and the other venues will stage sports such as gymnastics, basketball and baseball. Competition will also extend beyond California, with Oklahoma City hosting softball and canoe slalom, while preliminary football matches are scheduled for cities including New York, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, San Jose and San Diego.
