The final day of wrestling at the Asian Games 2026 brings a packed afternoon for India, with Aman Sehrawat fighting for gold and Sagar Jaglan and Deepak Punia competing for bronze. Aman will take on North Korea’s Han Chong Song in the men’s freestyle 57kg final, while Sagar and Deepak will be in action in the 74kg and 97kg bronze-medal bouts.
Aman Sehrawat Eyes Gold After Three Straight Wins
Aman Sehrawat has already assured India of a wrestling medal and now has a chance to finish the campaign with gold. The Olympic bronze medallist began his 57kg campaign by beating Japan’s Yamato Ogawa 20-9 by technical superiority before defeating Uzbekistan’s Aitanov 12-1 in the quarterfinal.
The toughest test came in the semifinal against Tajikistan’s Aiaal Belolyyubskii. Aman fell behind early but produced a strong comeback to win 14-8 and book his place in the final. He will face North Korea’s Han Chong Song, the world champion at 57kg, in the gold-medal bout.

Sagar Jaglan Takes On Nurkozha Kaipanov For Bronze
Sagar Jaglan will step onto the mat shortly after Aman, looking to finish his 74kg campaign with a bronze medal. His route to the medal bout has included a major upset, as he defeated Olympic champion Razambek Jamalov 7-3 in the repechage.
Before that, Sagar had opened his campaign with an 8-1 victory over Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur-Ochir. He then suffered a 0-10 quarterfinal defeat against Iran’s reigning Asian champion Yones Emamichoghaei, sending him into the repechage. Sagar responded when it mattered, beating Jamalov to earn another shot at the podium.
He will now face Kazakhstan’s Nurkozha Kaipanov in the 74kg bronze-medal bout.
