The conclusion of the US Open 2026 semifinals has brought a major shake-up to the ATP rankings (to be released next Monday), with Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe among the biggest winners after their deep runs at Flushing Meadows.
Shelton reached his first Grand Slam final after beating fellow American Tiafoe 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinal. The run moves the 23-year-old up four places to No. 4 in the updated rankings, with 4,680 points. He will now face Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s final.
Tiafoe also makes a major jump despite falling short of the final. His semifinal appearance takes him up four places to a new career-high No. 8 with 3,380 points, returning him to the top 10 for the first time since 2023.

ATP Rankings Update: Ben Shelton Makes Biggest Move Inside Top Five
Shelton entered the US Open ranked outside the top five but produced the biggest rise among the leading players.
His run included a five-set quarterfinal victory over defending champion Carlos Alcaraz before he defeated Tiafoe in the last four. The result has lifted him from No. 9 to No. 4, a four-place jump that gives him 4,680 ranking points.
A victory over Zverev in the final would give Shelton another major boost, but his new No. 4 position is already a career-best ranking.
Zverev remains at No. 2 with 8,990 points after reaching his second US Open final. Jannik Sinner continues to lead the rankings with 11,500 points, while Alcaraz remains No. 3 on 5,560 points despite his quarterfinal exit.
Felix Auger-Aliassime completes the top five with 3,890 points.
Novak Djokovic Falls Out of Top 10 as Tiafoe Returns
The biggest name dropping down the rankings is Novak Djokovic whose campaign ended in the first round after Mariano Navone stunned him 7-6(5), 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in a four-hour, 36-minute battle. This marks the first time that the 24-time Grand Slam champion is dropped from ATP top ten for the first time since July 2018.Â
The four-time US Open champion falls seven places to No. 12 with 2,980 points after his early exit in New York.Â
Daniil Medvedev is now No. 6 with 3,770 points, followed by Flavio Cobolli at No. 7 with 3,720. Tiafoe sits at No. 8, while Alex de Minaur is No. 9 with 3,300 and Taylor Fritz rounds out the top 10 on 3,175.
Outside the top 10, Arthur Fils is No. 11 with 3,150 points, Djokovic is No. 12, Learner Tien is No. 13 with 2,755, Rafael Jodar is No. 14 with 2,659 and Jakub MenÅ¡Ãk is No. 15 with 2,495.
