In the final of the All England Open 2026, Indian star shuttler Lakshya Sen will take on Lin Chun-Yi of Taiwan on March 8, Sunday.
The World No. 12 Sen booked his place in the summit clash after a 97-minute battle against Canada’s Victor Lai, winning 21-16, 18-21, 21-15 in the semifinals. The match saw the Indian fighting through injuries, blisters, cramps, and visible fatigue, but he held tight and overcame everything to secure a spot in the final.
This will be Lakshya’s second All England final. The first came in 2022, when he finished runner-up after losing to then World No.1 Viktor Axelsen 10-21, 15-21. But this time, the Indian star arrives with far more belief.
The stage is set. The history books are open. 🏸
Lakshya Sen is one win away from eternal glory at the YONEX All England Open 2026. It’s time to bring that trophy home! 🇮🇳

During his campaign this year, Lakshya Sen has already removed that threat defeating current World No. 1 Shi Yuqi in the opening round 23-21, 19-21, 21-17, securing his first-ever win over the Chinese star.
In the quarterfinals, Sen continued his dream run by beating the World No.6 Li Shi Feng 21-13, 21-16, avenging his 2025 quarterfinal loss to the Chinese shuttler.
However, his upcoming opponent will be no easy challenge. Lin Chun-Yi holds a 4–0 head-to-head record against Lakshya Sen. The last time they met was at the India Open 2026 quarterfinals, where the Taiwanese shuttler defeated Sen in a three-game thriller 17-21, 21-13, 21-18.
Chun-Yi is also coming into the final in strong form, having defeated second seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-14, 18-21, 21-16 in 78 minutes in the semifinals. His run to the final has been equally brilliant, with wins over big names such as Jonatan Christie and Christo Popov.
Meanwhile, if Lakshya Sen wins the match and lifts the trophy at the most prestigious and oldest badminton tournament of the world, he will enter an elite club of Indian legendary shuttlers joining only Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand in winning the All England Open title.
