The controversial run-out of Pakistan all-rounder Salman Ali Agha affected by Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the ongoing second ODI in Mirpur has created plenty of ripples on social media, headlined by meme fest. Netizens have called the moment as Bangladesh’s revenge after Pakistan betrayed them in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup 2026.

How did Salman Ali Agha’s run-out transpire in the second ODI?

The incident occurred in the 39th over of the innings when Mohammad Rizwan, who was on strike punched back to the bowler as Mehidy moved to his right to stop the ball. Nevertheless, the ball was near Salman Agha, who crouched down to pick up the ball and was out of the crease. But the home side’s skipper seized the opportunity to pick up the ball himself and toss it onto the stumps, catching Agha short. It was referred to the third umpire and it ultimately adjudged out but the spin-bowling all-rounder was livid. The wicket also ended a strong 109-run stand between him and the visiting captain as Agha had to walk back for 64.

As for the reference of T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan had taken a stand for Bangladesh, who had to be removed from the tournament after their government’s refusal to send their team to India. Nevertheless, Pakistan revoked their stand and returned to play in the tournament.

Here’s how the netizens reacted to the incident:

After being bundled out for 114 in the series-opener, the tourists have showcased resilience in the must-win second ODI. Opener Maaz Sadaqat impressed with a 46-ball 75, while Agha (64) and Rizwan (44) chipped in with useful contributions. But the lower order succumbed quickly to be bowled out for 274 in 47.3 overs.

At the time of writing this, rain had interrupted the contest, with Bangladesh at 27/3.
