Barcelona have strengthened their squad ahead of the new Liga F season by completing the signing of Brazil international Kerolin Nicoli from Manchester City on a four-year contract. The transfer is reported to be the largest outgoing deal in the history of the Women’s Super League (WSL), underlining Barcelona’s determination to remain among Europe’s dominant clubs.
According to British media reports, the Spanish champions paid €1.5 million (£1.73 million) for the 26-year-old forward, surpassing the previous record set by Olivia Smith’s move from Liverpool to Arsenal. Kerolin arrives after an impressive spell in England, where she played a key role in Manchester City’s successful domestic campaign.

Kerolin joined Manchester City from the North Carolina Courage in January 2025 and quickly established herself as one of the club’s standout performers. Her pace, creativity and eye for goal helped City lift both the Women’s Super League title and the Women’s FA Cup, making her one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe.
On the international stage, Kerolin has represented Brazil since making her senior debut in 2018. She was also a member of the Brazilian squad that captured the 2022 Women’s Copa América title, further enhancing her reputation as one of South America’s leading forwards.

Announcing the signing, Barcelona highlighted Kerolin’s development and readiness for the next stage of her career.

Barcelona have dominated Spanish women’s football in recent years, winning seven consecutive Liga F titles and lifting the UEFA Women’s Champions League four times since 2020. Kerolin is expected to make her competitive debut when Barcelona begin their 2026-27 Liga F campaign against CD Tenerife on August 30.
