STADIUM LIGHTS DIMMING WHILE FANS CELEBRATE WIN STORY: Boca Juniors scored twice in the second half to defeat Atletico Tigre 2-0 at home Sunday (November 16), finishing the regular season of the Argentine Clausura tournament in first place. Boca, who qualified for the postseason in the previous round, topped the standings in Group A with 29 points, four ahead of Racing and five ahead of Unión and Central Córdoba. After a quiet opening half at La Bombonera that saw a single scoring chance for Tigre, Ayrton Costa finally got Boca on the board with a perfectly angled header off a Leandro Paredes corner kick in the 73rd minute. Edinson Cavani then converted a penalty kick in stoppage time after a late hand ball and Boca eased to victory. Meanwhile, River Plate salvaged a 0-0 draw in their visit to Vélez Sarsfield, finishing in sixth place with 22 points and securing their qualification among the top eight in Group B.
