The Brazil national football team have ushered in a new era under Carlo Ancelotti, with the Italian coach naming a youthful 26-man squad for the next international window. The selection, announced on September 9, includes Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Marquinhos, while Joao Pedro returns after missing Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
Estevao is another headline inclusion as the Chelsea forward begins a fresh chapter with the senior side. Ancelotti has also rewarded several emerging talents, with eight players receiving their first senior call-ups. The Brazil squad will face Australia twice before travelling to India for a historic October friendly in Kolkata.
Joao Pedro Returns As Ancelotti Reshapes Brazil Attack
Joao Pedro’s return is one of the biggest stories from the Brazil squad selection. The Chelsea forward was omitted from the World Cup squad in May but has now been recalled as Ancelotti begins planning for the 2030 cycle. His inclusion adds another versatile attacking option alongside Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Endrick, Estevao, Pedro, Rayan and Samuel Lino.
Estevao also returns to the international spotlight after missing the World Cup through injury. The 19-year-old is among the eight newcomers or first-time selections in the 26-man group and represents Ancelotti’s clear emphasis on youth.
