World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz continues his title defence at the Monte-Carlo Masters 2026 as he reaches the semi-final stage, where he will face Monaco’s rising star Valentin Vacherot for the first time in their careers. The match is scheduled for April 11, Saturday, at Court Rainier III in the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
As the top seed, Alcaraz has once again shown why he is the dominant force on clay. He comes into this semi-final with an incredible record, having won 25 of his last 26 matches on the surface. His campaign began with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 win over Sebastián Báez, followed by a tougher three-set battle against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, where he overcame a mid-match dip and 23 unforced errors to win 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
In the quarterfinals, Alcaraz delivered one of the most dominant performances of the tournament, defeating Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-0. The win also marked a major milestone, his 300th tour-level victory.

On the other side, Valentin Vacherot has been the story of the tournament. The World No.23 from Monaco has enjoyed a fairytale run on home soil, defeating multiple top players to reach the semi-finals. He began his campaign with a comeback win over Juan Manuel Cerúndolo, rallying from a set down to win 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. In the next round, he stunned 4th seed Lorenzo Musetti in a high-pressure night match, winning 7-6(6), 7-5.
