Commonwealth Games return, and the action is only nine days away in Glasgow. However, unlike previous editions, the upcoming edition in Scotland will only feature 10 sports, a reduction of nine sports from the previous edition in 2022. After being truncated, the event will run from 23rd July to the 4th of August. With the reduction in the number of sports, India will be sending a shorter contingent of 125 players, including the para-athletes.
The Indian contingent will be led by two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra along with Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain. The nation would be hurt massively by Badminton not taking place in the games, with multiple medal contenders failing to get an opportunity to make an impact.
