Jasprit Bumrah played A key role in India’s success At The T20 World Cup 2026
Interestingly, it was Bumrah’s India that knocked England out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in the semi-final. India then went on to defeat the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final to win the title.
Jasprit Bumrah finished the tournament as the joint-highest wicket-taker with Varun Chakravarthy, with both bowlers taking 14 wickets each. Bumrah also picked up a four-wicket haul, becoming the first fast bowler to achieve this in a T20 World Cup knockout match. He joined Ajantha Mendis and Shadab Khan as the only bowlers to do so.
He is now the fifth-highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history and the most successful fast bowler in the tournament, going past Lasith Malinga. Bumrah was also named ‘Player of the Match’ in the 2026 final.
