Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings in match 7 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Chepauk on Friday.

After winning the toss captain Iyer said, “We will bowl first. It’s their first match on home ground, the pressure will be on them regarding how things go.”

“I just want to remain positive, composed, and cool while talking, avoiding negativity. It gives us immense confidence considering the line-up we have; they have a good team playing consistently, and we just want to play to the best of our ability. I want to take on the bowlers when the chips are down; I don’t want the bowlers to be on top. Want to go with a similar mindset this time as well. We are playing the same team”, he added.

Is MS Dhoni Playing Today?

No, the legendary wicketkeeper batter is still recovering from injury and he stays out for the first two weeks of the season as announced before. He was spotted practising ahead of the match but he has been ruled out from the playing XIs again.
