SRH vs CSK, IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been set a daunting yet gettable 195 to win by the SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 game against the SunRisers Hyderabad on April 18, Saturday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Curiously, the five-time champions haven’t successfully chased down a total in excess of 190 since the 2018 edition; hence, they have a stiff task on their hands.

SRH vs CSK, IPL 2026: When did the Chennai Super Kings last chase down a total of above 190 successfully?

The Yellow Army’s most recent instance of successfully chasing down a score of over 190 came during the 2018 edition against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. With RCB setting 206 for the Super Kings to win after half-centuries from Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni and co. had succumbed to 74/4 at one stage. But Ambati Rayudu’s 82 and MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 70 took the five-time champions over the line with two balls and five wickets to spare.

It also proved to be the year when the Super Kings won their third title after beating the SunRisers in the final.

SRH vs CSK, IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings lose Sanju Samson cheaply in their run-chase

Meanwhile, the Yellow Army have been jolted early in the run-chase as Sanju Samson has perished for 7 as Nitish Kumar Reddy struck with a bouncer, with Heinrich Klaasen taking the catch at mid-on. The Kerala-born keeper-batter could have been out in the very first ball of the innings bowled by Praful Hinge but the pull shot travelled over the fielder.

As for the SunRisers, Abhishek Sharma smashed a 15-ball fifty before perishing for 59. Klaasen also made a 38-ball 59, but the 2016 champions lost steam towards the end and limped to 194/9 despite sending in Liam Livingstone as the impact player. Both the Super Kings and SunRisers are coming off wins and are looking to continue that momentum.
