Dana White has confirmed that the UFC is working on a major new event, but it appears fans should rule out one of the most heavily speculated locations. The UFC CEO recently shut down suggestions that the promotion’s mysterious “impossible event” could take place at Mount Rushmore, ending speculation that had grown since his original announcement in August.

White first teased the unusual event after the UFC had already staged high-profile spectacles at the Sphere in Las Vegas and the White House in Washington, D.C. His comments quickly sparked theories about where the next groundbreaking event could be held, with Mount Rushmore emerging as one of the most popular guesses.

Dana White Shuts Down UFC Mount Rushmore Event Rumours

Dana White has put an end to speculation that Mount Rushmore could host the UFC’s next major special event. The UFC CEO confirmed that the iconic South Dakota landmark is not the location being considered, while revealing that production chief Craig Borsari has already spent four days inspecting a different site. White shared the update during a Friday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show and said he hopes to reveal more about the mystery event within the next two weeks.

Mount Rushmore became a popular theory among UFC fans after White teased what he described as an “impossible event” following UFC Freedom 250. The promotion has already staged unusual spectacles at the Sphere in Las Vegas and the White House in Washington, D.C., making fans curious about what White could have planned next. Pentagon and Mount Rushmore were among the locations mentioned during the speculation.

White had previously been asked about a possible event at Mount Rushmore during an interview with Barstool Sports but did not directly dismiss the idea at the time. His silence only fueled the rumors, but he has now made his position clear. “It’s definitely not Mount Rushmore,” White said. “No, it is not going to be Mount Rushmore. Actually, ‘Cocky’ Craig Borsari just landed last night. He’s been on the site where I want to do it for four days, checking out the possibilities of getting this done. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can break (the news).”

UFC’s Next ‘Impossible Event’ Remains a Mystery as Announcement Nears

The UFC boss has offered very few clues about the actual venue, keeping the details of the project under wraps for now. White has developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of UFC event production, and UFC Freedom 250 showed his willingness to take the promotion into unconventional settings. His latest project appears to follow a similar approach, although the location remains a mystery.

White had earlier spoken about the project as an “impossible event” and indicated that Borsari would need to conduct additional reconnaissance before the UFC could move forward. “You gotta go back and do some recon. work on the impossible event. Hopefully, I can get this thing done next week and handle some of the stuff that I have to do. Then he can go walk the site, and hopefully, we can announce something soon.” With Borsari now having spent four days assessing the location, the UFC appears to be moving closer to making the plans official.

For now, fans will have to wait for White’s announcement to discover where the UFC is planning to stage its next landmark event. The White House seemed an unlikely venue before UFC Freedom 250, and with Mount Rushmore now ruled out, the mystery surrounding the promotion’s next big spectacle remains. White has suggested that an announcement could come within the next couple of weeks, potentially revealing another unexpected setting for the UFC.
