Akeal Hosein has been a promising pick for the Super Kings and delivered a match-winning bowling performance when brought in as an impact player against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. He exploited the spinning conditions perfectly at the venue, snaffling figures of 4-1-17-4. Although it was a shocker not to see Hosein playing against the same opposition at the Chepauk, the Yellow Army won the contest easily. Hosein could yet again be the impact player as the Super Kings look to tie down Capitals’ explosive batting unit.
2) Shivam Dube
Due to Shivam Dube not chipping in overs with the ball and owing to some sloppy fielding in recent times, the all-rounder could be an impact player. Dube could make plenty of difference as an impact player, coming out to bat all fresh, while Sarfaraz Khan could be kept on the field, given his ability to take some outstanding catches and instill energy on the field.
1) David Miller
David Miller had to be reduced to being an impact sub in the clash against the Royals due to the Capitals having a settled overseas contingent in Mitchell Starc, Kyle Jamieson, Pathum Nissanka and Tristan Stubbs. With a fit Lungi Ngidi likely to replace Jamieson, the veteran could still be relegated as an impact substitute when the Capitals host the Super Kings.
