DC vs RR, IPL 2026: Both Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals have entered the must-win territory as the IPL 2026 playoffs beckon, with the Arun Jaitley Stadium set to stage the match between the two sides on April 17, Sunday. While the Royals are at a better position due to having 12 points under their belt, the Capitals have no margin for an error. With the impact player rule that was introduced in the 2024 edition and changing the face of IPL, it will yet again be in focus on Sunday. 3) Sameer Rizvi
Sameer Rizvi began the season with two thunderous fifties but his season has gone downhill since that despite compiling some middling scores in a few games. The right-handed batter is arguably an exciting young player but hasn’t played since the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But Sahil Parakh not converting his chances means Rizvi could be handed an opportunity as an impact sub on this occasion.
2) Ravi Bishnoi
While Rajasthan Royals leggie Ravi Bishnoi has had an improved season compared to the previous one, he is yet to find the required consistency. The 25-year-old hasn’t played since the game against the Delhi Capitals on May 1. But the Royals could be tempted to call up Bishnoi, especially due to spinners finding plenty of success in the previous game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
1) Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has played as an impact sub in a few games in IPL 2026 and the game against the Gujarat Titans was another occasion. The left-handed batter well and truly made an impact with a 16-ball 36, taking the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj to the cleaners. But the Royals still crashed to a huge 77-run loss while chasing 229. The teenage prodigy could yet again play as an impact player.
Ashutosh Sharma is yet another firm contender for the Capitals for an impact sub.
