Tyson Fury has revealed an unexpected plan for his long-awaited heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua, saying he intends to invite US President Donald Trump to accompany him during his ring walk. Fury and Joshua are scheduled to meet on December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in one of the most anticipated all-British heavyweight fights in recent years.
The former world champion wants to add an extra layer of spectacle to an already huge occasion by bringing his “old buddy” into the spotlight before the opening bell.
Tyson Fury Wants Donald Trump For Anthony Joshua Ring Walk
Fury confirmed he plans to make the invitation to Trump after being asked whether the US president could join him for the walk to the ring.
“I’ll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, old pal, and we’ll see if he’s available,” Fury said.
However, the 38-year-old acknowledged that securing Trump’s presence could prove difficult given his responsibilities as president.
Fury and Trump have met previously, with the boxer making a high-profile appearance alongside the US president at the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House earlier this year.
Fury vs Joshua: Battle Of Britain Set For Cardiff
The proposed Trump appearance would add another headline-making element to Fury vs Joshua, a contest that has been years in the making. The fight is scheduled for December 11 at the 80,000-capacity Principality Stadium, with both former heavyweight champions finally set to settle their rivalry inside the ring.
Fury enters the contest with a professional record of 36 wins, two defeats and one draw, including 25 victories inside the distance. Joshua, meanwhile, owns a 30-4 record with 27 knockout wins.
Fury returned to action in April with a unanimous-decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, while Joshua’s most recent fight was a knockout win over Jake Paul in December 2025.
