Drive to Survive Season 8: The 8th season of Formula 1 — Drive to Survive finally premiered on Netflix on Friday, 27th February, and a deeply personal moment featuring Christian Horner and his wife, Geri Halliwell, has become one of the major highlights of the season.

In the new season of the Drive to Survive, fans were in for a shocker as Horner was seen revealing the news of his exit from Red Bull Racing to his wife, Geri Halliwell.

Christian Horner’s Legacy At Red Bull

Horner served as team principal and CEO of Red Bull during his tenure from 2005 to 2015. During that period, the Red Bull team enjoyed great success, winning six World Constructors’ Championship titles.

However, things went downhill in 2025. Midway through the season, Red Bull fired Christian Horner following his team’s disappointing performance and a sexting scandal, where he was accused of sexual harassment by a female employee. An internal investigation twice cleared Horner of any wrongdoing. Horner received an £80 million settlement to cover the remainder of his contract as part of his exit procedure.

Season 8 of the Drive to Survive shows the emotional moment when Horner revealed his firing from Red Bull to his wife. In the scene, he can be seen walking into the kitchen and gently greeting his wife.

“Hey, darling,” Horner says as he comes into the kitchen to give his wife a kiss on the forehead. “All done and dusted.”

The couple then sits down at the table to process everything. Halliwell, clearly emotional, leans in to hug him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

Later, in the conversation, the former Spice Girl asks her husband how he feels about the situation, offering viewers a rare and intimate look at how the couple handled the life-changing moment.

"Of course your immediate reaction when you get delivered a [expletive] sandwich like that is, like, [expletive] them," Christian responded. "I've had something taken away from me that wasn't my choice, that was very precious to me."

Geri then added: "But you thought it was going to happen. We came back from that Austria race, and I remember you sat on the bed one night and went, 'Something really bad's gonna happen'."
