Subsequent medical evaluations and X-rays conducted in Leeds confirmed that Babar avoided a bone fracture, offering initial relief to the touring contingent. Despite undergoing a brief batting session in the Headingley nets on Monday under close medical supervision, the team management decided that fielding him across five demanding days risked worsening the tissue damage.

The team management remains highly confident that the extended rehabilitation window will allow the swelling to subside in time for the second Test at Lord’s starting August 27.
