Several tweets claiming that Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton and reality TV icon Kim Kardashian have “unfollowed each other on Instagram” has gone viral, sparking speculation that their high-profile relationship has come to an end. However, a fact check reveals that the viral claim is completely baseless and built on a fundamental misunderstanding of the couple’s social media habits.

Did Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian Unfollow Each Other On Instagram?

The rumor falls apart under simple verification: Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian have never followed each other on Instagram.

Hamilton has maintained an incredibly strict social media policy for years, often keeping his “Following” count at absolute zero or limiting it strictly to his own creative projects and close inner circle. Because neither star ever hit the “Follow” button on the other’s profile to begin with, it is mathematically and technically impossible for them to have “unfollowed” one another.

Hamilton who has 43.3 million followers on Instragram, follows only 5 accounts at the moment: Lewis Hamilton Ventures, Plus 44 World, Indegoblack, Mission 44, and Almave. All are his own brands or ventures.

Current Status of Hamilton-Kardashian Relationship

Far from a breakup, the relationship between the seven-time World Champion and the SKIMS founder is actually reaching its highest public milestones yet. After months of guarding his private life, Hamilton unexpectedly broke his silence just days ago during a pre-race fan Q&A ahead of the British Grand Prix.

When asked by a fan at Silverstone if a new girlfriend was the secret behind his visibly happier demeanor lately, Hamilton first laughed and then surrounded the answer towards Ferrari’s progress. However, at the end he ended up accepting, “And of course, of course, it’s Kim,” as per People, quoted by Yahoo.

It is only at the Monaco Grand Prix 2026, held on June 7, that Kim joined Hamilton in the paddock. The Ferrari start also blew a flying kiss to Kim Kardashian, while celebrating his second-place podium finish.

Moreover, the couple was also recently spotted sharing a intimate moment during a private beach getaway in Malibu. The duo was captured by onlookers locking lips and embracing on the California coastline. This romantic seaside retreat, alongside other recent vacations in Paris and Tokyo, suggests that the sports star and the reality icon are committed, leaving little room for the social media breakup rumors to stand.
