Social media is currently in a frenzy over a viral video featuring former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja and legendary Australian cricketer turned commentator Lisa Sthalekar. The incident took place during the high-octane Eliminator 1 of PSL 2026 between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Netizens have been flooding platforms like X and Instagram with claims that Raja “kissed” Sthalekar live on air, leading to a wave of trolling and memes.

Did Ramiz Raja Kiss Lisa Sthalekar? The Reality Behind The Viral Video

The clip in question shows a playful and lighthearted moment between the two veteran commentators. During a transition between broadcast segments, Lisa Sthalekar approached Ramiz Raja and gave him a friendly side-hug. In response to the gesture, Raja was seen laughing and leaning in for a quick peck on the forehead, which many social media users misidentified as a romantic kiss.

They emphasized that the moment was intended to be a private greeting but was inadvertently captured by the live cameras while they were still “on glass” (on air).

Social Media Reactions And Recent Blunders

The incident comes at a time when Ramiz Raja is already under the scanner for a series of on-air slips. Just days before this viral moment, Raja was trolled for accidentally calling a fielding effort a “Catch of the IPL” during a PSL match. He also trended for calling the league the “HBL IPL” while presenting an award, leading fans to joke that he was having a particularly erratic week.

While many fans found the moment “adorable” and a sign of the “global cricket family” spirit, others in Pakistan criticised the gesture as unprofessional and culturally insensitive for a live broadcast in the region. Despite the noise, both Raja and Sthalekar continued their duties normally through the end of the match, which saw the Hyderabad Kingsmen crush the Sultans to reach Qualifier 2.
