Neymar Jr broke down in tears after Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti announced his name for the FIFA World Cup 2026. It was an emotional moment not only for Neymar himself but also for millions of fans and his teammates alike. Raphinha, also part of Ancelotti’s 26-man squad, called Neymar right after the Brazil squad was out on Tuesday.

The duo engaged in a heartwarming chat as they look to lead Brazil to their record-extending sixth World Cup. The Selecao, placed in Group C, will take on Morocco in their campaign opener on June 14.

Neymar was in tears as he received the video call from Raphinha. The Santos frontman, accompanied by his partner Bruna Biancardi, spoke to Raphinha, who was visibly excited to see Neymar’s name on the squad list.

“Thank you, Rapha. You know how much I care about you. Thank you so much for everything. Let’s go, we can do this. Everything is going to be fine. We’re going to win this,” an overwhelmed Neymar was heard saying to Raphinha in a widely viral clip.

It was nothing short of a fanboy moment for Marcelo, who erupted into a wild celebration after Neymar was named in Brazil World Cup squad. The former Real Madrid full-back, who has played with Neymar for the national team, was captured celebrating emphatically as the Santos star returned to Brazilian colours after a long injury struggle.

With in-form players like Joao Pedro and Anthony missing out, Ancelotti has shown his faith in Neymar, who has already turned his back on European football. Neymar last played for the national team in 2023. Since then, he has been sidelined due to fitness issues following an ACL injury. It’s not yet confirmed if Neymar will be part of Brazil’s starting lineup in the World Cup. Ancelotti may test his fitness in the warm-up matches Brazil will play ahead of the marquee event.
