Is Eoin Morgan replacing Mahela Jayawardene as Mumbai Indians’ head coach ahead of IPL 2027?
Jayawardene returned as the coach of the Mumbai Indians, replacing Mark Boucher, who held the role when the five-time champions finished at the bottom of the points table in the 2024 edition. While Morgan has enjoyed success as the England skipper, including leading them to World Cup glory in 2019, he doesn’t have coaching experience. Hence, it would be a massive responsibility on him to coach an IPL side in a tournament as high-octane as the Indian Premier League (IPL).
