CSK vs LSG, IPL 2026: Was Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj present at Vijay Thalapathy’s oath-taking ceremony?
In a photo shared on X, the Tamil Nadu-born former cricketer wrote, “Duty always comes first, but on a must win match day #CSKVLSG, it’s a bit too much. It’s a day game, get a cab & get to Chepauk ASAP Anshul Kamboj. Big game.”

The photo also showed a security officer of the State Chief Minister being highlighted as he looked like Kamboj. However, it turns out that he was only a lookalike of the right-arm seamer.
CSK vs LSG, IPL 2026: How has Anshul Kamboj performed for the Chennai Super Kings?
Meanwhile, Kamboj has been a bona fide wicket-taker for the Super Kings as he currently has 17 scalps in 10 innings at 18.70 and is one of the chief contenders to take the purple cap this season. As far as the state of the current match goes, the toss went in Super Kings’ favour and Ruturaj Gaikwad opted to bowl first, given the pitch has been under the covers for a while due to showers.
The five-time champions are currently sixth in the points table with five wins and as many defeats, making it mandatory for them to win their remaining games to reach the playoffs. The Super Giants also face the same scenario but with seven losses in 10 games even winning their remaining fixtures might not be enough to reach the playoffs.
