The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final is set to take place on Sunday, July 19, with Argentina facing Spain in a blockbuster clash at the New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The match will begin at 3:00 PM local time, which translates to 12:30 AM IST on Monday, July 20. With the biggest prize in international football on the line, the final brings together two champions from different footballing cultures.

The showdown also represents a meeting between two generations. Lionel Messi, at 39, is aiming to secure consecutive World Cup titles in what could be his final appearance on football’s biggest stage, while 19-year-old Lamine Yamal leads Spain’s exciting young core. Spain enter the final after a commanding 2-0 semifinal win over France, while Argentina reached the decider after a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against England. Spain’s biggest strength has been their defensive solidity, conceding just one goal throughout the tournament, whereas Argentina have relied on their attacking firepower, scoring a tournament-best 19 goals.

The final will also feature a historic entertainment spectacle, with FIFA introducing a Super Bowl-style halftime show for the first time at a World Cup final. Global stars Shakira and Burna Boy are set to headline the performance, adding another layer of excitement to the tournament finale. With additional stoppages from entertainment, hydration breaks and possible VAR reviews, the Argentina vs Spain clash could become the longest World Cup final broadcast in history.
