FIFA World Cup 2026: The biggest tournament in the football world is all set to kick off in a few months. The FIFA World Cup 2026 is expected to be bigger than ever before. For the first time in history, 48 teams will take part in the tournament instead of the usual 32 teams. The event will be jointly hosted by three countries in North America: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
It has to be noted that this is only the second time in history that the FIFA World Cup will be hosted in multiple countries. The first incident took place in the year 2002, when Japan and South Korea hosted the marquee tournament together.

The quarterfinals will begin on July 9. The semifinals will be played on July 14 and July 15. The final match will take place on July 19.
A total of 16 cities have been shortlisted to host the matches across the three countries. While the United States will host games in 11 cities, including Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York/New Jersey, on the other hand, Mexico will host matches in Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey. Canada will host games in Vancouver and Toronto.
The final will be played at MetLife Stadium, which is the home stadium of the NFL teams New York Giants and New York Jets.
