The biggest sporting extravaganza in the world is here, with soccer fanatics eagerly awaiting the inaugural FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony that is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026. Hosted at the legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, the gargantuan pre-game extravaganza will kickstart the first-ever 48-team World Cup, which is all set to take place in Mexico, Canada and the United States. FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony: Star-Studded Performance List And Musical Acts

The opening show in Mexico City will feature a spectacular galaxy of global musical icons performing live tracks from the official tournament album format. Pop superstar Shakira, alongside Nigerian sensation Burna Boy, will headline the ceremony to deliver the world premiere performance of the official tournament song titled Dai Dai.

Representing the rich cultural heritage of the host country, legendary singer Alejandro Fernández will perform the Mexican national anthem, while global chart topper Tyla will sing the national anthem of South Africa ahead of the match. The expansive performance roster also features reggaeton icon J Balvin, Belinda, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, and the Grammy Award-winning pop rock band Maná to ensure an electrifying atmosphere inside the stadium block.
