The four Ugandan pugilists left their team camp without permission shortly before their official departure from Scotland. Ugandan chef de mission Godwin Kayangwe confirmed that Ibrahim Kemis, Nuhu Batte, Emily Nakalema, and Angel Katushabe communicated briefly with their team manager before switching off their mobile phones. Reports indicate that one athlete informed home media that the boxers aimed to remain in Britain to access better training facilities. Although their visas remain valid through October, team officials noted that leaving the camp directly breaks official delegation rules.

Pakistani Boxer Qudrat Ullah Disappears Leaving Passport Behind
In a separate incident, 20-year-old Pakistani boxer Qudrat Ullah disappeared from his team hotel in Glasgow. Officials from the Pakistan Boxing Federation stated that the athlete was last seen in his room around two in the morning before vanishing prior to morning assembly. Strangely, Qudrat Ullah left his passport and travel documentation with the team manager, creating complications for his official return. The disappearance comes after Pakistan concluded their tournament campaign with a single medal, earned by Fatima Zahra.
