Frances Tiafoe vs Alex Michelsen Head-to-Head, Form And Prediction

Tiafoe has won both previous meetings against Michelsen. He defeated him in Dallas in 2024 and again in Houston in 2025. The American No. 11 seed has therefore won all four sets they have played.

Tiafoe enters the quarterfinal after beating No. 7 seed Daniil Medvedev 7-6(1), 6-4, 7-6(6). That victory also extended his perfect record at Louis Armstrong Stadium to 10-0. He has reached the second week at Flushing Meadows in six of the last seven years.

Michelsen has been equally impressive. The world No. 46 has not lost a set during the tournament. He defeated No. 16 seed Brandon Nakashima and No. 27 seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry on his way to the last eight. A win would lift Michelsen to a potential career-high No. 26 in the tennis live rankings.

Prediction: Tiafoe starts as the favourite because of his experience, current momentum and 2-0 head-to-head advantage. However, Michelsen’s unbeaten run without dropping a set makes the US Open contest quite fascinating.
