C.D. Guadalajara snapped Club Tijuana's unbeaten run in the Liga MX Apertura with a commanding 5-2 victory at Estadio Akron on Saturday night. Driven by a relentless first-half attack and a brace from Ricardo Marín, Chivas dominated the fixture to secure three crucial points and create a logjam at the top of the early-season table.

Guadalajara vs Club Tijuana

Guadalajara took absolute control of the match from the opening whistle, exploiting gaps in Tijuana's previously untested defence. Santiago Sandoval opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, setting off a rapid succession of attacks. Ricardo Marín doubled the advantage in the 30th minute before converting a penalty in first-half stoppage time (45'+2) to give Chivas a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into the break.

Second-Half Dominance and Late Consolation

The offensive onslaught continued seamlessly into the second half. Roberto Alvarado added a fourth goal in the 58th minute, and Diego Campillo netted the fifth in the 68th minute, effectively putting the match entirely out of reach.
Entering the match undefeated, the Xolos struggled to generate meaningful possession or test the Chivas backline for the first 70 minutes. However, as Guadalajara eased their tempo with a 5-0 lead, Tijuana found a late attacking rhythm. Forward Elias Manoel provided a silver lining for the visitors, scoring in the 74th minute and adding a second consolation goal in stoppage time (90'+1) to slightly mitigate the damage to their overall goal difference.
