VIDEO SHOWS: COMMENTS FROM MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER PEP GUARDIOLA  RESENDING WITH COMPLETE SCRIPT SHOWS: MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (FEBRUARY 3, 2026) (NICHE MEDIA - Access all) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, ON CONFLICTS AROUND THE WORLD, SAYING: “We have the history. Never, ever in the history of humanity, never, ever have we had the info in front of our eyes, watching more clearly than now. The genocide in Palestine, what happened in Ukraine, what happened in Russia, what happened all around the world - in Sudan, everywhere. What happened in front of us? You want to see it? It's our problems as human beings. It's our problems. It's not the problem. So these images, it's not interpretation, play good, play bad, what happened here, there, you should play that player, the other player, and it's fine. So it's because in the past, we never, but never. And during the past, what happened? So what do you have to do? As I said many times, play better.” 2. WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, ON WHY THESE SUBJECTS MATTER SO MUCH TO HIM, SAYING: JOURNALIST ASKING: “Hi, Pep. Sorry, this is just a question that's occurred to me now when you're talking there about images, when you talked about Palestine and Ukraine. And Sudan and things like this. You obviously gave the big talk in Barcelona last week, which was received very well by a lot of people around the world. Why do these subjects matter so much to you, to the extent where you're very comfortable talking about?” GUARDIOLA: “There is someone, there is someone here. No, honestly, I appreciate it because in 10 years or the last two years it is the first time when journalists ask me about that. It looks like you are not allowed to do it for your work, I don't know. But there is someone who sees the images happening all around the world, about the wars around the world, you don't get affected? He is not questioning about right or wrong. Every politician, right, left, right-wing, left-wing, can, of course, have to, everyone, the ideas can do that. But there is someone here that no effect will happen every single day, but today we see it, before we could not see it, today we see it is not something new. It hurts me. For me, it hurts me. It would be the opposite side, it would hurt me. It would harm another country, it hurts me. It's not about the position. So every argument, I'm sorry, this is my feeling. You can discuss when you completely kill thousands of innocent people, it hurts me. It's no more complicated than that. No more. I have a lot of people and friends who, you know, from many many countries, a lot of friends. But when you have an idea and you have to defend it, you have to kill thousands and thousands of people. I'm sorry, I must stand up. Always, I will be there. Always. I cannot imagine nobody, anyone cannot feel that when you see the images every single day. The fathers, the mothers, the kids, being happened, with what happened, being destroyed in their lives, and absolutely, the people cannot feel a little bit of being attached. I'm sorry, I cannot, I cannot feel it.” 4. WHITE FLASH 5. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA SAYING: “Not for that situation of genocide of Palestine, whatever caused it, I can be a better place in humanity to; for many years I was open arms, right? Here, wearing. As the people go to the major run, run away from their countries, from the wars that. People have to run away from their own countries, go in the sea, and go down and go aboard to try to rescue. Don't ask if it’s right or wrong, just rescue him. It's about the human being. After we can be agreed, we can criticize one thing, one position, another thing, but everyone is right, you know, when everything has an idea, you have to express it. But when people are dying, you know, you have to help them. You know, the human being, be alive, to protect the life, it’s the only thing we have. And now it's not happening, but not just in this part of the world, in every part of the world. And what's happening right now, still right now, with all technologies, all the advances that we have, humanity is better than ever in terms of possibilities. We can reach the moon, we can do everything. But still right now we kill each other for what? For what? So when I see the images, I see the images. I'm sorry, it hurts. It hurts me. That's why in every position I can help, speaking up, to be a better society. I'm not, I want to change anything, but I try, I will be there. All the time. It's for my kids, for my families, for you, for all of you, for your families as well, for the kids, for the family, for my players, for all the stuff. And everyone do whatever he can, you know, in his job, in his life, the best. And injustice, from my point of injustice, you have to talk. You have to talk. Otherwise, we just move on. You know? Look what happened in the United States of America with Renee Goode and Alex Pretti. They have been killed. One is an informer and the other NHS. Imagine NHS, you know, five, six people around him, go on the grass, 10 shots. Tell me how you can defend that. Make something wrong, okay, go to the tribunal, go to sue, go to jail if something's wrong. That is what happened, no, not in the modern. There is not a perfect society. I know not everybody's perfect. I'm not perfect. Nobody's perfect. Societies are not perfect. I have to work to make it a better place. You know, a person who goes there, defends a woman there, has been killed for that. Who can defend that? I don't know. I will be always in front of that.” STORY: Pep Guardiola said he will continue to use his platform as Manchester City manager to speak up for victims of global conflicts and violence. Guardiola was speaking at a pre‑match press conference ahead of City's League Cup semifinal second leg against Newcastle United, five days after he voiced support for children in the occupied Palestinian territories at a charity concert in Barcelona. "Never, ever in the history of humanity have we had the information in front of our eyes watching more clearly than now," Guardiola told reporters on Tuesday (February 3) in Manchester. "The genocide in Palestine, what happened in Ukraine, what happened in Russia, what happened all around the world - in Sudan, everywhere," he said, referring to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. "What happened in front of us? Do you want to see it? It's our problems as human beings. It's our problems." He said society must work collectively to improve. "Look what happened in the United States of America, Renee Good and Alex Pretti were killed. Tell me how you can defend that," Guardiola said. The fatal shootings of the two U.S. citizens by federal immigration agents sparked widespread protests in the United States. "When I see the images, I am sorry it hurts. That is why in every position I can help speak up to be a better society, I will try and will be there. All the time. It is for my kids, my families, for you. "There is not a perfect society, nowhere is perfect, I am not perfect, we have to work to be better."
