The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in England and Wales from 12 June to 5 July 2026, has released its schedule on Tuesday.
The 10th edition of the tournament will feature the largest field in the tournament's history with 12 teams battling for the title, playing 33 matches across seven venues. All teams are divided into two groups of six:
Group A: Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group B: England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland
The Netherlands are the newcomers who qualified for the Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time ever. They will face an in-form Bangladesh side in the opener, who remained unbeaten in their qualifiers.
The tournament promises several interesting storylines, including an English derby featuring Scotland, who debuted in 2024, facing the hosts England for the first time.
Meanwhile, Ireland, who missed out on qualification last time, will return this edition.
New Zealand will be defending their title after winning their maiden ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024. The White Ferns defeated South Africa by 32 runs in the final in Dubai.
For the hosts England, this edition offers a chance for redemption with the advantage of home support.
The team was knocked out in the group stage in 2024, finishing third in Group B.

However, their path will not be easy, as a strong Indian side are coming as high-stakes contenders. The Women in Blue, fresh from their historic first-ever ODI World Cup title in 2025, will be hunting for maiden T20 silverware.
England will kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka on 12 June at Edgbaston, Birmingham, while India will begin against arch-rivals Pakistan on 14 June.
Meanwhile, the perennial powerhouse Australia will be looking to reclaim their title after a setback in the 2024 edition, where their streak of three consecutive titles ended in the semifinals with an 8-wicket loss to South Africa.
With their male counterparts eliminated in the group stage of the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the pressure is even higher on the Australian women’s team. They will start their campaign against the runners-up South Africa on 13 June at Hampshire Bowl, Southampton.
