Pakistan cricket touched another low after suffering a humiliating 2-0 Test series whitewash against Bangladesh in Sylhet. As criticism poured in from fans and former cricketers, Iceland Cricket joined the chaos with another viral sarcastic post on X, continuing its long-running online banter with Pakistan cricket following the T20 World Cup 2026 drama.

Pakistan cricket hit another embarrassing low on Wednesday after Bangladesh completed a historic 2-0 Test series whitewash in Sylhet, extending their recent dominance over Shan Masood’s struggling side. But while the defeat sparked outrage among fans and experts, it was once again Iceland Cricket that stole the internet’s attention with a brutal social media dig aimed at Pakistan cricket.

Bangladesh sealed a comprehensive 78-run victory in the second Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium to complete their second consecutive Test series sweep over Pakistan. After whitewashing Pakistan 2-0 away from home in 2024, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side repeated the feat in Bangladesh, underlining the alarming decline of Pakistan’s red-ball setup.

Soon after the result, Iceland Cricket, famous for its razor-sharp humour on social media, posted a sarcasm-filled message on X that quickly went viral.

“While we were locked out of X for two weeks by the hackers, Zak Crawley was finally dropped by England and Sir David Attenborough made a century. Pakistan struggled in Bangladesh and the Icelandic domestic season got underway. Did anything else happen of note?”

The post triggered a flood of reactions from cricket fans, many of whom joked that Iceland Cricket had become Pakistan cricket’s unofficial “roasting partner” on social media.

This is far from the first time Iceland Cricket has aimed at Pakistan. During the controversy surrounding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the Nordic cricket page repeatedly mocked the Pakistan Cricket Board amid uncertainty over Pakistan’s participation in the tournament. Iceland Cricket had jokingly offered to replace Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, saying they were “ready to take off” if PCB pulled out at the last moment.

In another viral post during the T20 World Cup saga, Iceland Cricket hilariously claimed they eventually could not replace Pakistan because their amateur players, including bakers and ship captains, could not suddenly abandon their day jobs for international cricket.

As for the cricket itself, Bangladesh thoroughly outplayed Pakistan across the series. Chasing a daunting 437-run target in Sylhet, Pakistan were bowled out for 358 despite resistance from Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha. Veteran spinner Taijul Islam starred with a sensational six-wicket haul, while Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das dominated with the bat earlier in the match.

The latest defeat at the hands of Bangladesh has put a maaor dent on Pakistan cricket team’s reputation, with fans on social media calling it one of the team’s darkest phases in Test cricket history. Bangladesh, meanwhile, continue their rise in red-ball cricket and have now won four consecutive Tests against Pakistan — a statistic few would have imagined just a few years ago.
