The left-handed batter was involved in an altercation with Sri Lanka A following a high-drama Super Over loss a couple of days ago. However, as tensions grew over his participation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided a huge update on the batter’s participation. Devajit Saikia, the BCCI Secretary, confirmed that the 15-year-old will play the must-win clash against Afghanistan A.

Sooryavanshi and the Sri Lankan cricketers got into a fight after the home team allegedly sledged him as the teenage prodigy was leaving the game in despair. Niroshan Dickwella apparently stepped in to prevent things from escalating further as the 15-year-old, in his anger, pushed one of the Sri Lankan players. Based on reports, the Rajasthan Royals could have been barred from the rest of the tri-series due to making physical contact with another player. Still, it looks like Sooryavanshi will be playing against Afghanistan A and, from what the latest reports quoting Devajit Saikia divulge, he hasn’t been fined.
The BCCI Secretary, while talking about the incident to Sportstar in an interview, said, “We will let our players to concentrate on the tournament, and they should not be distracted by any collateral issues.”

The alleged fight kicked off right at the conclusion of Monday’s India A vs Sri Lanka-A match.
