England speedster Jofra Archer's 11-year-old tweet has gone viral after the Englishmen's struggles with the ball in the all-important T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5, Thursday. In the tweet that he tweeted on August 29, 2015, the Barbadian had tweeted, "England this is depressing'.

Jofra Archer at the heart of England's bowling woes in the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final

Archer, who took the new ball, proved to be the most expensive of all England's bowlers, contrary to expectations. The 30-year-old had been taken for 4-0-61-1, with Sanju Samson particularly going hammer and tongs on the tearaway speedster. He did pick up the wicket of Tilak Varma but the Men in Blue had already seemingly amassed a match-winning total. Nevertheless, Samson was dropped by Harry Brook when he was on 15, robbing Archer of a well-deserved wicket. The Kerala-born cricketer then went on to add 74 more runs to his tally before getting dismissed by Will Jacks. The defending champions hammered 253/7 after Samson top-scored with 89, with the likes of Ishan Kishan (39), Shivam Dube (43), Hardik Pandya (27) and Tilak Varma (21) also playing their part exceptionally well.

Will Jacks was the only England bowler finishing with a respectable haul of 4-0-40-2 but overall, all their bowlers took a beating

Here's the tweet from Archer as he wrote:

England lose Phil Salt and Harry Brook in powerplay in pursuit of a massive total at the Wankhede Stadium:

Meanwhile, England, who are also the two-time champions have had a poor start in their pursuit of 254, losing Phil Salt (4) and Harry Brook (7) cheaply. Hardik Pandya struck with his first ball of the innings to remove Salt, while Jasprit Bumrah sent down a slower delivery to send the England skipper.

Harry Brook and co. will need to register a highest run-chase in a T20 World Cup game. England had notably chased down 229 against South Africa in 2016 at the same venue.
