While Sooryavanshi batted with the Sticker of SS (Sareen Sports) in the tri-series in Sri Lanka but will reportedly bat without a sticker on the same if he gets an opportunity in the second T20I against Ireland on June 28, Sunday in Belfast. According to Cricblogger, the southpaw is yet to finalize a bat sponsorship deal. While several companies expressed interest to sponsor his bat and some reports claim he was offered a ‘blank cheque’, potential sponsors are reportedly contemplating the financial viability of such a high-value endorsement. According to Cricblogger’s sources, Sooryavanshi’s team is after a deal of an amount as high as at least ₹12 crore, with the best quotation reaching only ₹6 crore. Hence, the deal is currently on a the negotiation stage but expected to be finalised soon.
Earlier, Sooryavanshi was getting ₹50 lakh per annum from one of the bat manufacturers and while they are keen to retain the star cricketer, they are also assessing how much they can afford realistically. Nevertheless, reports indicate that Sooryavanshi is expected to have a bat sponsor before the five-game T20I series against England, beginning on July 1. He was also seen batting with a bat which had no sticker during a practice session ahead of the first T20I against Ireland.

While the biggest question ahead of the first T20I against Ireland was whether or not Sooryavanshi will play and it remains the same ahead of the second T20I. The tourists have their backs against the wall after a shocking 34-run defeat to the Irishmen, who have a 1-0 lead and cannot lose the series. Hence, India must win the second T20I to avoid a humiliating series defeat.
Both India’s batting and bowling delivered only in parts in the series-opener as the hosts seized the key moments to create history.
