New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi was seen crying while the country's national anthem was being played on March 8, Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a video surfaced on social media, the leg-spinner was seen trying hard to control his tears while singing the anthem.

Ish Sodhi has played only three matches of T20 World Cup 2026:

The 33-year-old, who has not been included in the playing eleven for the T20 World Cup 2026 eleven against India in Ahmedabad, featured only in three games without a wicket. Sodhi had also struggled in the previous T20I series against the Kiwis, picking up five wickets in as many matches, averaging 38.80 alongside an economy rate of 12.93.
