Team India batting titans Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan were engaged in a banter during a press conference after the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a video surfaced on social media, Abhishek was asked about his inconsistent form in the tournament by a journalist, with Ishan also joining in the conversation as the two were involved in a playful conversation about where their respective game lies.
Abhishek Sharma comes good on the night of the final:
Contrary to expectations, the left-handed batter struggled for form throughout the tournament, with his solitary half-century before the final coming against Zimbabwe. Although Abhishek took time in the tournament-decider against New Zealand, the youngster went hammer and tongs after getting his eye in and brought up his half-century off only 18 deliveries – the fastest in the 2026 edition. Along with Sanju Samson, he belted 92 runs in the powerplay and stitched a 104-run opening stand to set the stage for a massive total.
When asked by the journalist about his struggles, Abhishek said he will be in a better position to answer this question. But Ishan playfully cut him off and stated:
“Tera ek mahina form gaya tha. Main 2 saal bahar raha hoon.” (Your form was a problem for one month, I was out of the team for two years.)
Found it.

Bowlers back up batters’ outstanding display in T20 World Cup 2026 final:
With India setting an improbable 256 for the Black Caps to win, they were under the pump from the outset, Although New Zealand found themselves 25/0 after two overs, the Men in Blue soon came out on top and continued to pile on the misery on the tourists. Tim Seifert was the lone warrior for the Kiwis, mustering a 23-ball 50 before falling to Varun Chakaravarthy for 52.
There were no real contributions from the remaining batters and New Zealand were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief with his figures of 4-0-15-4 and received the Player of the Match award.
